Summary
BogoCam ("the App") does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data, usage analytics, or device information. Your photos, videos, and location stay on your device. BogoCam has no backend server, no account system, and no analytics.
What information is collected
None. BogoCam does not have a backend server, account system, login, or analytics.
What information is shared with third parties
None. No third-party SDKs, advertisers, analytics providers, or data brokers are integrated.
Camera, microphone, photos & location
BogoCam is a camera app, so it asks for access to your camera, microphone, photo library, and (optionally) your location. All of this is used only on your device to capture and save your photos and videos — none of it is uploaded to us or anyone else:
- Camera & microphone — used to show the live preview and to record your photos and videos. The feed is processed entirely on your device and is never streamed or uploaded.
- Photo library — BogoCam saves the photos and videos you capture to your own photo library, and (with your permission) reads it to show your most recent capture and let you browse it inside the app. Your library is never uploaded or shared.
- Location — if you allow location access, BogoCam tags the photos and videos you capture with the place they were taken, exactly like the built-in Camera app. This location is written only into your own media in your own photo library. It is never sent to us or any third party. You can turn it off any time in iOS Settings, and existing captures keep working without it.
Local data
BogoCam stores the following on your device only:
- Your capture settings — flash mode, aspect ratio, resolution, frame rate, grid, and self-timer.
This data lives entirely in iOS UserDefaults and is removed when you uninstall the app. It is never transmitted off your device. Your photos and videos are stored in your own photo library, managed by iOS.
Children's privacy
BogoCam is rated 4+. Because BogoCam collects no data of any kind, it complies with COPPA and similar regulations by design.
